7/8/14-7/18/14
When Megan told me she was thinking of driving to Oregon with her kids, it didn't take me any time to say sign me up! I love a last minute, spontaneous, road trip! The kids actually all did great in the car. Other than Minecraft fights it was actually smooth sailing. Thank goodness for electronics!
First stop on the way up was leg stretching at Walker Lake. We got to stretch a lot more than we anticipated when Megan's car got stuck in the sand. Zander helped us dig and eventually (with Aaron's long distance help) build a 15 ft. rock path, and we were finally out and back on our way!
We did lots of walking and exploring and legos and games and jumping on the trampoline. It was fun to be there with no obligations and just play with the kiddos.
On the way home, we stopped in Reno and Tyler and Jillian brought the kids to come swim at our hotel.
Last stop: Beatty Ice Cream and Candy Shop of course!
After over 2200 miles on the road, we were glad to be home, but excited to see the family we had left behind. It was Troy's bday so we went to Macayos for dinner with Ron and Kathy and the birthday boy.
Then we headed to see the one we missed most! It was a long time not seeing Aaron. Of the 11 days we were gone, he worked 8 of them.
The rest of the time, if he wasn't sleeping this is where you could find him.
As for me...I was glad to be home in my bed...by myself. This is what I was contending with every night:)
