For Christmas, I surprised Aaron with Lakers tickets. So last Thursday night, he and a friend drove down to LA to see the Lakers play the Celtics. He honestly seemed like a little boy on Christmas morning, giddy with excitement! Anyone that knows Aaron, knows that he is the greatest gift giver, so to be able to give him something that he would love so much put a big smile on my face too!
I wish I had a picture of my other little Laker fan to put on here. Zander never ceases to amaze us with how observant he is. Before Aaron left that day, he told him Kobe was hurt and wasn't going to be playing. This is how the conversation went:A: Kobe can't play tonight because his ankle is hurt, so they asked me to play for him instead.
Z: No they didn't!!
A: Really, look. They already gave me my jersey. (Aaron goes in the bedroom and comes out with his purple Kobe jersey on. Zander studies it for a minute with a thoughtful expression).
Z: Wait a minute! You're going to LA right?
A: Yep.
Z: Then they are the home team tonight, and they will be wearing yellow not purple! You're not playing!
A few other things he shared with me as we watched the game on TV that night:
"Fisher's really good at 3 pointers."
"Kobe Bryant is the best player on the team. He's really good at slam dunks. That's why they call him Kobe Bryant, the slam dunk giant!"
"Did you know Pau Gasol's brother plays basketball too? (I really didn't know that) He plays for the Grizzlies. They have the same hair."
I love the brain of this kid!!
And to make sure our little girl is born a true Lakers fan, Aaron came home with a little present for her!
